The Committee reviewed and discussed the public survey results.

The main themes in the results to be summarized when this application goes to Council.

There was a discussion regarding the large list of individuals in Oxford County that are on the list for rent geared-to-income housing and those eventually tend to transition into affordable housing from there. There needs to be more communication on the critical need for affordable housing in the Town.

C. Panschow provided a summary of the environmental impact study to-date.

C. Panschow will follow up with the consultant to determine the completion date.

There was a discussion regarding the potential for looking at other locations for this development or looking at having a smaller development.

There was a discussion regarding the importance of maintaining the integrity of the woodlot.

R. Smith will provide examples of some recently built smaller developments on other County properties.

This resolution was shared to the Committee for information. This will provide some local market rate rental units for the Simcoe Street development.

The County is looking to exempt this development from development charges and rent supplementing to make this development even more affordable.
